We can stop the ego from destroying the world!

If somebody asked me which is most devastating THING in this world then it the EGO. The bigger the ego, the more devastating it is.

Its difficult to define the dictionary definition ( An exaggerated sense of self-importance) of ego but it surely can be understood through this too-
"the quickness in realization of ones mistake in front of others and accepting it unabashedly", So bigger the ego the longer the time a person might take to accept his her mistake.

Ego is difficult to be checked by self, because the person possessing it might not even know about it and may not accept that he is suffering from the same - egoism. This can be altered just by someone who the egoistic person regards high from the heart. Otherwise, he is so imposing on others that they would not be successful in making him realize his mistake.

In a family, ego of a person may impose things on others. A person results in being so authoritative that he/she is always the dictator of things. And if once voiced against he/she may feel much hurt. It is the ego which makes one feel hurt when somebody refuses to agree to the wishes.

It is very essential to not to
  • let one's ego take over one's thinking
  • let somebody else's ego force us to change our stand.
As this ego infuses to a greater level, say a community or a country etc. This gets disastrous. The people tend to be infused with unalterable mindsets. Only the head of the society has the power to change the mindsets or lower the ego levels of the community. For eg. take the Nazi community. Their feeling was - Jews are bad, they destroyed Christ. And that feeling had creeping in to become a ego issue. No Jew would have been successful in explaining his point to them. They would listen to their leader - Hitler, to change their perception.

If one tries, one can also peep into self to realize their ego-points. If you realize that most of the times you are imposing things on others, you get hyper-tensed when somebody tries not to agree or you just feel hurt because somebody did not visit you or pay heed to you. Then you are seriously suffering from ego-mania. Better take an action to reduce the feeling of getting hurt by trying to being cool at all instances of life.
